Kwibuka Genocide Memorial Commemoration

Kwibuka is Rwanda’s annual commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi — a period of remembrance observed across the country and by Rwandans abroad. Mareno has provided live coverage of commemoration events across successive years, including a ceremony held in partnership with United Nations Rwanda and a community observance in Busasamana, Nyanza.

This work is treated differently from a typical production brief: coverage is steady, unobtrusive and focused on carrying the proceedings faithfully to those who could not be present.
